Travesty is a five-piece high energy rock band, who is always looking to get out and in front of any crowd! They are currently on a high from releasing their debut album: Outspoken. Travesty has taken their past life experiences, hardships, ups and downs as inspiration for this album. As a band, they have taken their best tracks and slammed them into a jam-packed record! It’s time to get Outspoken today. Outspoken was primarily composed and arranged by lead singer Travis Jaques and producer Alex “Chuck” Krotz. Travis approached Chuck five years ago to collaborate on demos he had written, having worked on two previous albums together. Travis and Chuck worked through the songs and ended up writing an entire album. Over the last three years, Travesty has worked with Chuck to record Outspoken at Chuck’s studio - ANAK Studio, at Travis’ home studio, and at the acclaimed Noble Street Studios in the heart of Toronto. Alex “Chuck” Krotz is a musician, audio engineer, mixer, editor, producer, and songwriter. His extensive work includes Billy Talent – Dead Silence, The Tragically Hip – Now For Plan A, Drake – Nothing Was The Same, Mother Mother – Very Good Bad Thing, and Three Days Grace – Human. Not only did Chuck engineer and mix Outspoken, he also performed on it! You can hear Chuck singing backing vocals on most of the tracks and lead vocals on Bad Blood City and Distance, which he was also the primary composer. Lyrically, the albums explores the theme of expression suppression. Songs like Structure, Disease, Make it Through & Epilectic all centre around loneliness and not being able to truly express oneself, while also conveying the message that you should speak up and out. Travesty challenges the concept of groupthink and conformity for the sake of uniformity. Additionally, songs like L.A.S.T., Lose My Mind, and Distance explore romantic love and the trials of relationships. “This album is a chance for us to vent the normal feelings of life. We all have jobs, and families, and just life that we explore in this album,” The artwork for Outspoken, Is This Real and Droids was designed and created by Rachel Jaques and Kirsten Stanley. More than anything, Outspoken is a resurrection of rock music in the modern age. Huge pounding drums, thick and heavy guitars, catchy riffs, and vocals that will guarantee to make you sing along. Outspoken , Is This Real and Other single releases are available on all music purchasing and streaming platforms. Our Newest Single Droids will soft release November 14th At Rum Runners. Music video to fallow with online release. |
